Promotion: what to share

Promotion shows what your readers wanted at this time last year, so you can plan social media posts, emails, and pins ahead of time.

Promotion is a week-by-week plan of the recipes your readers wanted at this time last year, and where that traffic came from: Google, Pinterest, social, and email.

List or Calendar

  • List starts with this week and shows 10 weeks. Click Show 3 more weeks to look further, up to 26 weeks.
  • Calendar shows a month at a time. Use the arrows to go back up to 3 months, or forward.

Hover a recipe to see last year's numbers for each source. Click it to open the post's page.

Filter by sources

Select "All sources" for an overview, or choose Google, Pinterest, Social, or Email. Recipes you never shared don't appear in the Social, Email, and Pinterest filters.

Tip

Pick one recipe from this week, then type @ in Social Captions to write the caption from the real recipe.

Which week is "this week"?

Today's real week, in US Eastern time. A season that started in the last 14 days and is still going shows in this week too.

What counts as a peak?

A recipe that got at least 2x its usual traffic for 3 weeks in a row last year. Pinterest takes time to build, so pin about 8 to 12 weeks before a peak.

Why is Promotion empty?

Promotion compares with last year, so it needs about a year of history. It fills in a few hours after you connect Google, once your history loads. If nothing peaked in the months ahead last year, it says so.
